2011 was a cooler growing season than usual, but at our elevation of 2000 feet, we are generally above the fog line and benefitted from more sunshine than most during this cooler year. Our 2011 Zinfandel presents our characteristically intense mountain berry fruit with notes of both black and white pepper. The wine has a more restrained alcohol content than typical Zinfandels and is balanced with structure and acidity.
This wine was listed by wine writer Jon Bonné on his Top 100 Wines in 2014 in the San Francisco Chronicle and Danny Meyer listed as one of his Seven Favorite Wines his Wine Rules article in Food & Wine Magazine.
