We were up at Sky this Sunday and Spring was in full force! The ground cover with techni-color clover was finally abloom. Vibrant orange California poppies contrasted brightly with and lush green grass. Looks like it is almost time to mow!
We are gearing up to bottle the new rose in a few weeks, but in the meantime, the 2008 rose is showing mightly nicely. There was a period during the winter when it went into hibernation, but the bottles we’ve enjoyed in the past few weeks have been among the best we’ve tasted.
Our friend Abby was in town for her annual Sky Vineyards/Bay to Breakers trip so much of the Sky family converged for a leisurely lunch. We spent the afternoon in the backyard enjoying the temperate weather. Thanks for sending all the great pictures, Abby!
Bottling for the 2008 Zin and Syrah, and the 2009 Rose is set for the first weekend in June. Hopefully the Rose will be labelled and released soon after!
